
Hey there Superheroes!
Today, we would like to celebrate this Hero of Miami, Staff Sergeant Rowan! Not only is this young man serving our country in the United States Army, but he also volunteers his time to local high school students! Check out the information below about this phenomenal young person and learn about how he is a hero within our community!
SSG Rowan is native of Compton, California. He graduated from Paramount High School in 2013. He enlisted in the United States Army in September 2013 and attended Basic Training at FT Jackson, SC. He attended Advanced Individual Training in 73rd Ordinance Training Battalion at FT Gordon, GA to become a 94F Computer Detection systems Repairer. He now resides in Miami, Florida.
On SSG Rowan’s off time he works with High School athletes in the Miami Dade County area to mentor and train them on strength and conditioning. During the summer he works with Miami Central High School as the strength and conditioning coach for the football team. He strives to attend the Special Forces Assessment and Selection Course to become selected and train to be an 18E Special Forces Communications Sargent after his time with the Miami Recruiting Battalion.
SSG Rowan`s Military awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 awards), Good Conduct Medal (2 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2 Awards), Army Service Ribbon, and an Overseas Ribbon. Other awards include Parachutists Badge and Recruiters Badge.
